SUGAR ARTISTS SAVE THE DAY

Sugar Artist to the Rescue: Virtual 3D Sugar Topper Competition was an event hosted by Cakepreneurs Philippines together with Hulmang Pinoy and Peotraco Food Inc. The contest had three categories: the 2D Cupcake Category, the 3D Sugar Cake Topper Beginner Category, and 3D Cake Topper Advanced Category with the theme, “Superheroes on Christmas Eve.” Aside from the official judging, an online voting was made to determine the People’s Choice award winners from each category. Selected entries were featured on the Peotraco Food Inc.’s official Facebook page.

2D CUPCAKE TOPPER CATEGORY WINNERS

Asia Marie Mixon was the gold winner for the 2D Cupcake Topper Category. She believes that superheroes are people who help without asking for anything in return so she decided to feature the Justice League superheroes in her entry. At first place and second place was Eliza Sobresida and Judy Ann Cuizon respectively, with their Christmas-themed Teen Titans cake toppers. On the other hand, Leila Gube and her adorable Powerpuff Girls cupcake toppers got the People’s Choice award for winning the online voting contest.

3D SUGAR TOPPER BEGINNER CATEGORY WINNERS

For Karina Grace Robillos, superheroes must be brave, willing to help others, and kind-hearted. With this in mind, she featured the modern-day heroes, the frontline workers. Her great concept and execution allowed her to be the gold winner of her category. As a frontliner herself, her entry was dear to her heart. Winning first place was Lyanna Lumberio’s entry which featured the Teen Titans cartoon. For her, the most important quality of a superhero is his/her ability to distinguish right from wrong. Lorelie Bernardino placed second with her entry featuring Spiderman, Wolverine, and Wonder Woman dressed as carolers. Moreover, Catherine Recato won the People’s Choice award.

3D SUGAR TOPPER ADVANCED CATEGORY WINNERS

Faith Ileto with her Sailor Moon cake topper with intricate details was the gold winner of the 3D Cake Topper Advanced Category. Alexander Tecson won first place with his Superman dressed as Santa sitting by the fireplace cake topper. At second place was Armi Rose Lontok who also featured Sailor Moon carrying a bag of sugar art materials incorporating Peotraco Food Color Gel. According to her, she has been an avid user of Peotraco Food Color Gel ever since she started her cake decorating journey. Last but not the least, Raquel Carceller Ferreras won the People’s Choice Award with her entry featuring Christmas-themed Wonder Woman.
